First-generation Mexican American engineer.

Born in the San Francisco Bay Area, I was raised in a family that stayed close to our Mexican roots and valued steady work. The Puente program at my local junior college gave me my first real path into higher education and showed me how powerful support networks can be for first-generation students.

I transferred to UC San Diego for a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and stayed for an M.S. in Computational Science with a focus on machine learning. Most nights were spent prototyping neural networks, tuning early big-data pipelines, and swapping notes with friends who were also trying to turn research ideas into practical tools.

Today I build backend systems at Autodesk. My work centers on highly available APIs, data processing workloads, and the internal infrastructure that keeps product teams shipping with confidence. It is steady, detailed work that rewards patience.

I am exploring how to back the next wave of agentic systems with reliable AWS-grade APIs that speak blockchain—predictable performance, transparent telemetry, and practical guides for other first-generation builders doing the same.
